Welcome to Maryland Helicopter Association

We are a group of radio controlled helicopter pilots located in the Washington DC area. We are dedicated to promoting the radio control helicopter hobby. If you are tired of crashing your new helicopter every time you try and fly, why don't you join our club or contact us for some help. Our club field is located fifteen minutes from the Washington Beltway.

'08 FUN FLY

The MHA 2008 Fun Fly will be June 6-8 2008 this year!

Your help and participation has earned us a reputation as a fun, well organized event that people want to attend. Please plan now to join us for three full days of fun starting Friday June 6. The AMA ads and sanction have been sent in, and the wheels are already rolling! We're going to need all the help we can get this year.

Coverage will include Run Ryder TV (www.runryder.com), Heli Freak (www.helifreak.com), Rotory Modeler, (www.rotory.com) and SKS video.

5/5/08 UPDATE:

We will have a real barbecue dinner Saturday night!  Please plan on joining us for a great meal of pulled pork sandwiches, potato salad or cole slaw, baked beans, and a drink. The barbecue is real smoked barbecue, slow smoked for hours at 200 degrees, not some canned or frozen stuff you find in the big chain fast food stores!

As always, we will have burgers and sausage subs available all day long Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We have some of the best Fun Fly Food available, so please come hungry and plan on eating with us.

In keeping with the MHA club motto,  “We hate to see you crash, but we hate to miss you crash,” everyone who crashes gets a free sandwich. Limited to 50 sized machines and larger, unless you really pound the heck out of your 450 electric!

Rumor has it, the Baltimore Boyz will be providing entertainment at the Saturday evening night fly.  Last years event ended at 0200 Sunday morning, who knows what will happen this year!
